How can Agropur turn an age-old product into something new and creative?
The innovation challenge for the internal Agropur team was how to engage older millennials to turn a frozen novelty food product into either an indulgence or a nutritious snack for a target consumer segment. The team was curious about the design thinking method and wanted to experience it in a learn-by-doing environment to innovate their approaches and products.

Building Innovation through Replication
DesignThinkers Group co-created a design thinking workshop. The aim was both to teach the Design Thinking methodology by coaching the participants through the phases to lead them to innovation, as well as how to replicate the process internally.
outcome
Forging New Ways of Thinking
The Agropur team dug deep and gained a richer appreciation of the target customers’ desires, needs, and pain points. This led to 10 different new ideas and opportunity areas to pursue in the category, and ultimately, the launch of a new frozen food product. The team also gained a foundational understanding of design thinking and how to continue practicing the method internally as a way to better relate to its consumers and to be able to innovate accordingly.
